The City of Sheboygan is sailing ahead with their plan to revamp the lakefront and marina.
The $77 million plan got a head start on Wednesday when a professional arsonist torched the Harbor Centre Marina Administration Building which was home to The Landing and Bar 43. Due to the city blowing through their demolition funds on other buildings this year, firefighters were not sent to the fire.
City officials believe the new lakefront amenities will bring more visitors to Sheboygan.
No one was hurt in the blaze. Only seagulls were displaced. Fishermen were told to return next year as the season is just about over with anyhow. The city will use the ashes to fill potholes in the coming months.

What the Sheboygan Marina looked like prior to the fire.
The Board of Marina, Parks & Forestry will meet on October 13th to review the proposal. Construction is expected to begin sometime next year.
